David S. Goyer is an American screenwriter and director who wrote Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire[1] and Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series.[2]
On September 21, 2023, Goyer revealed that at some point around 2019, he was signed on to write a film regarding the Jedi's origins 25,000 years before The Phantom Menace, alongside a separate project under director Guillermo del Toro. However, Goyer left his work for Lucasfilm.[3] Del Toro later confirmed that his cancelled film was about the rise and fall of Jabba the Hutt.[4]
