"I first saw Emperor Palpatine in Return of the Jedi in the mid 1980's. It seems surreal that almost four decades later I would be meeting him in person, but not only that, also doubling & standing in for him! Ian was great to work with; in fact he was so delightful I can now truly understand why Anakin would have turned to the Dark Side for Palpatine."
―David Decio[1]

David Decio is an English actor who has been involved in two Star Wars productions. David worked on the Disney+ miniseries Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi as the double and stand-in for Palpatine/Darth Sidious played by Ian McDiarmid.[2] In 2014, he helped create licensed consumer products through a company under contract with Lucasfilm, on Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. As part of his work, he would visit the production of The Force Awakens at Pinewood Studios in England.[3]
