Dathomiri boars were non-sentient pig-rodents native to the planet Dathomir,[1] in the Outer Rim Territories.[3] A brown and tusked creature, they were 3 meters tall and lived in the forests and jungles of the planet. They had long tails and claws tipped with poisonous bacteria, which could kill the carrion they ate with a slight scratch. After the first attack, Dathomiri boars would retreat to let the poison kill the prey.[1]
In 3638 BBY,[4] the Kaleesh pirate Shaedo ate Dathomiri boar meat, which he described as phenomenal, offering some to Imperial Moff Varnus Orlec.[5]
In 31 BBY,[6] Jedi Knight Quinlan Vos was tasked by the Jedi Council to investigate the disappearance of the planet Ova. Vos' search eventually led him to Dathomir where he came into contact with the Nightsister coven of witches.[7] While posing as a slave, Vos discovered the plans of Nightsister Ros Lai, revealing himself as a Jedi. Lai attempted to feed Vos to some boars, but Vos slew the beasts with his lightsaber.[2]
