"Sleep well, my child, tonight.
Though the forest is filled with light,
Close your sweet eyes,
While the sun flies
Over the mountains. Good night."
―A Ghostling lullaby[5]

The sun of the Datar system[3] in the Inner Rim and Northern Dependencies regions[2] was orbited by the planet Datar.[4] In the early centuries of the Galactic Republic, the Duros hyperspace trailblazer Gan Basso died when he accidentally crashed his vessel into the star after a hasty hyperspace jump.[3] The Ghostlings, the natives of Datar, sung about their planet's sun in at least one lullaby.[5]

Behind the scenes

The Datar system's sun was first mentioned in Episode I Adventures 5: The Ghostling Children, a junior novel written by Dave Wolverton and published in January 2000.[5]
