The Darrow sphere, also known as "Je'daii's bane", was a device invented by Je'daii Master Kin'ade to assist in training Je'daii students at Stav Kesh. It was a predecessor to the training remote.[1]
Characteristics
The physical appearance of the Darrow sphere seemed to vary, with it being able to have a smooth, fluid surface as well as hard and spiked surface. It also had the ability to change size, at least varying from a size larger than a human head to about the size of a human fist. The sphere could glow, with one possible glow color being blue. The sphere could become transparent, and perhaps even entirely invisible. The sphere made a humming noise.[1]
When active, the sphere hovered, and attacked trainees by firing at them and bashing into them physically. The shots fired by the sphere were able to cause pain and muscle spasms, and the force of the sphere's impact could knock Lanoree Brock onto her back. The sphere could also electrocute an opponent if they made physical contact with the sphere.[1]
History
The Darrow sphere was a singular device invented by Je'daii Master Kin'ade. Several years before 25,802 BBY, a student of Kin'ade named the sphere "Je'daii's bane".[1]
In 25,802 BBY, during Lanoree and Dalien Brock's stay at Stav Kesh, they took part in a training session with the Darrow sphere. During an intial spar, Lanoree and the other students were quickly defeated, with one female Wookiee student being able to get a physical hit in before being electrocuted.[1]
After this, Lanoree and the other students were blindfolded, had their ears plugged, and their noses clipped, removing their senses of sight, hearing, and smell. After she was defeated, the other students went after, with Dalien going last. Unable to rely on the Force, Dalien was struck in the leg in the sphere, before he removed a blaster from his jacket and fired it wildly in an attempt to hit the sphere. In response, Master Kin'ade used a force push to throw Dalien across the room, causing him to hit his head and lose consciousness.[1]
