Dark Trooper hyperspace capsule

The title of this article is conjectural. Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

Dark troopers used hyperspace capsule vehicles when serving the Galactic Empire, which were were launched from the Arc Hammer. One devastating feature of the launch pods was the ability to explode on contact with a Rebel planet, which softened the Rebel forces just prior to the attack on Tak Base. As their name indicated, they had the ability to travel through hyperspace.

Behind the scenes

Clint Bajakian created the sound effect for the capsule launch, as heard in Dark Forces. His sources were the launch sound effect of the Viper probe droid, combined with the sound of a Snowspeeder (both from Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back) and his own voice with tweaked frequency, for "a semihuman personality".^[1]
