Dakarus Garnik was a male Cathar Captain of the Galactic Republic living during the War against Zakuul. He was a member of Rike's Raiders, a unit led by a strong Republic loyalist General Amos Rike. Following the death of the Eternal Empire Empress Vaylin in 3630 BBY, Rike led his loyalists including Captain Garnik to displace the Alliance forces on Denova and seize control of the Denovan Baradium Mines. Alliance Admiral Bey'wan Aygo send a strike team to Denova to reclaim control of the mines. In the ensuing battle, Garnik ambushed the Alliance forces, but was overwhelmed and eventually killed.[2]
