The Daisy Mae was a unique customized Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor owned by Admiral Gial Ackbar.[1]

History

The Abduction of R2-D2

Shortly after the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, Admiral Gial Ackbar was preparing to leave with the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO to Mandalore to liberate some battle droids. When Luke Skywalker and the others wanted to hear 3PO's stories of his time with the Galactic Republic, Ackbar was polishing the ship and encouraged 3PO to tell them. After retelling the story about his history with Anakin Skywalker and the beginning of the Clone Wars, a mysterious figure abducted R2 and stole the Daisy Mae. C-3PO and Ackbar were forced to use another ship to go after them.[1] They would later find the ship on Coruscant, hidden under a pile of paper, but it was taken away by a tow truck and the two Rebels would part ways.[4] Ackbar would later arrive on Geonosis with the ship and use it to rescue the Millennium Falcon from a giant B1 battle droid controlled by the Imperial General Maximilian Veers.[5]

Service under the Resistance

During the Rescue of Admiral Ackbar, the Daisy Mae would be used by its owner and C-3PO to escape the First Order after freeing Ackbar from the Resurgent-class Star Destroyer Subjugator.[2] The ship would later be present at the Resistance base on D'Qar around 34 ABY.[3]

Behind the scenes

The design of the Daisy Mae is derived from the 2015 LEGO set 75087 Anakin's Custom Jedi Starfighter.[6] The LEGO set itself is a depiction of the Azure Angel, a modified Delta-7 Aethersprite-class light interceptor piloted by Anakin Skywalker in the 2003 Legends animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars.[7]
