Description

The DH-17c short carbine was a model of blaster carbine in the venerable DH-17 product line. Blurring the line between blaster carbine and blaster pistol, the weapon was a shortened version of the DH-17 blaster rifle. The weapon's receiver and snub-nosed barrel came cast in a silvery color.[1]

The main selling point of the DH-17c, aside from its small size, was its range of firing modes, which included the standard semi-automatic and stun settings along with an automatic setting, which gave users of the weapon an extra an unexpected edge in combat.[1]

History

The DH-17c short carbine was produced by BlasTech Industries, who sold it from the factory without any accessories for 950 credits; however, many users chose to customize the weapon with optics and folding stocks, increasing both the performance and usability.[1]

During the Galactic Civil War, several engineering units with the army of the Alliance to Restore the Republic adopted the DH-17c short carbine as their official weapon. This was due to the weapon's size and versatility allowing the engineers to swap between working and fighting with great ease than they would have using a heavier weapon.[1]

Behind the scenes

The DH-17c short carbine was created for the 2018 roleplaying supplement Fully Operational, which was released as part of the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion series produced by Fantasy Flight Games.[1]
