D3-X9 was of protocol droid used by the Sith Empire during the Galactic War. It was dispatched to Makeb as part of Katha Niar's forces, where it was stationed at the Drill Site Control Center. It assisted Captain Hanthor with assembling a team to take down the Specialists, a group of elite mercenaries employed by the Hutt Cartel.[1]
