Daniel Brett Weiss is an American television producer, writer, and novelist. Along with David Benioff, he is the co-creator and showrunner of the critically acclaimed HBO television series Game of Thrones, an adaptation of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire novels. On February 6, 2018, it was announced that Weiss and Benioff would be writing and producing a new Star Wars film series, that would be separate from the Skywalker saga and Rian Johnson's Star Wars trilogy.[1] On October 28, 2019, however, Weiss and Benioff exited the project due scheduling conflicts with Netflix.[2][3][4]
