Cyclic insulation was a type of material that was used on starships. Installing interlocking layers of cyclic insulation on a starship would improve the durability of deflector shields when in heavily ionized areas, such as the Sayma Nebula.[1] By 3 ABY[2] an amount of the insulation had been stored in an encryption sealed container in the Khepi system by Rokana Raiders.[1]
In 3 ABY,[2] Kay Vess recovered the stash of cyclic insulation from the container in the Mynock Lair in the Khepi system.[1]
Behind the scenes
Cyclic insulation first appeared in the "A Pirate's Fortune" expansion for the Massive Entertainment video game Star Wars Outlaws,[1] which was released on May 15, 2025.[3] Cyclic insulation was describes as part of the "Conductive Shields" passive system upgrade.[1]
