- "A holocron is a store of knowledge of the Force, created by the Jedi. I am the Gatekeeper of my holocron, and it is my responsibility to keep the knowledge it contains from the unworthy."
- ―The Curator
"The Curator," also known as the Gatekeeper, was a Cerean who served as the gatekeeper for one of the three holocrons of Spintir's Dawn Temple.[1]
Biography
Alongside the Warden and the Jailor,[1] the Curator was a gatekeeper intelligence that resided in a holocron stored the Dawn Temple, a ruined temple of the Jedi Order on the planet of Spintir.[2] The Curator was the least prominent of the trio and limited in his access to the Dawn Temple's information network without the holocrons of the other gatekeepers installed.[1]
Sometime during an energy-saving cycle, wild beasts and scavengers were able to make off with the holocrons containing Warden and the Jailor. Shortly thereafter,[1] the Dawn Temple was infiltrated by the dark side adept Malefax.[2]
The Jedi observed a group of Force-sensitives scale the mountain and, upon them encountering him, inquired as to their purpose. The group attempted to convince the Curator that they were worthy of assisting, leading the Jedi to warn the party of a band of approaching hunters. The Curator later spoke the adventurers, who had become trapped in ice-lined pits, lamenting the futility of escaping by conventional means. The Jedi instructed the group to use the Force instead, considering it an intriguing test from his position.[2]
The Curator came to find the adventurers worthy of divulging his holocron to them, but only once they had ousted Malefax from the temple. The Jedi later agreed with the assessment of the abducted scholar Hethan Romund, who opined that the holocron held secrets that remained to be discovered.[2]
Discussion with Romund further convinced the Curator of the Force sensitives' worthiness.[1]
