Crystalstorms were a type of weather which occurred on the mineral planet Crait,[1] the crystalline planet[2] Christophsis,[3] and the desert planet[4] Seelos, where the storms were a hazard.[3] On Crait, crystalstorms were known to kick up crystals from beneath the planet's surface.[5] When the Nupayuni Mining Consortium first charted Crait, the mining company erected several structures, including a blast door that could withstand crystalstorms.[1] At some point during or prior to 3 BBY,[6] the Rebel Alliance leader Bail Organa established a hidden outpost on the planet, which once bore witness to a crystalstorm.[5]
Behind the scenes
Crystalstorms were first mentioned in the 2017 reference book Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
