General Crix Masst was a former member of Alliance Special Operations[2] and a brilliant tactician who believed strongly in the ideals of the New Republic. He was killed on Sinded by the assassin Morteos, who wired a bomb into the repulsorlift generator of the general's personal speeder.[1]
Masst kept a journal, which he wrote using the same Atrisian script that Special Operations personnel frequently used when creating and transmitting tightly-coded, spurious mission plans for the purpose of tying up the resources of Imperial Intelligence, a practice known as "salting the ether."[2]
