Criton's Point was a quarantined planet in the Myto sector. Its Library of Xer was built 26,000 BBY. Not much was known of the planet, but many historians had expressed interest in gaining access to the Imperial-controlled library.
The Pentastar Alignment and the Commerce Master Commissioner of the Velcar Free Commerce Zone had strictly prohibited all entry into the system and landings on the planet. However, a small scientific team was operating on the planet conducting archaeological excavations in the area near the library. The science team had a small settlement and a starship landing field on the planet.[3]
