- "It seems Dok-Ondar's generosity has saved you... For now. I would have just scrapped the crinking thing. Both crinking things."
- ―Jabba the Hutt threatening Greedo
Crink was a swear word used in the galaxy. It was part of the phrase "crink it," used by people like Beilert Valance[2] and T'onga to express anger.[3] The variant crinking was used as an intensifier, by people like Jabba the Hutt,[1] T'ongor,[2] Valance[4] and Dengar.[5]
Behind the scenes
The word "crink" originates in the Legends novel Allegiance, where it was part of the phrase "go crink yourself" and the variant "crinking."[6] The phrase "go crink yourself" also appears in the Legends junior novel Rebel Force: Renegade.[7]
"Crink"[2] and its variant "crinking"[1] are phonetically similar to the real-world noun "frick"[8] and the corresponding intensifier "fricking,"[9] which are euphemisms for the swear words "f*ck"[8] and "f*cking."[9]
