- "Broadcasts of grav-ball tournaments on the holonet were often accompanied by recruitment messages that featured popular players, and Grand Moff Tarkin was sometimes seen in the crowd for games that took place on Coruscant, though it remains unclear whether he actually had any interest in the sport."
- ―Beaumont Kin, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire
The Coruscant League was a grav-ball league on the Core Worlds[1] planet[2] Coruscant. During the Imperial Era, the Galactic Empire used grav-ball in its propaganda and broadcasts of tournaments were often accompanied by recruitment messages featuring popular players. Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin sometimes attended games on Coruscant. The file Grav-ball's Greatest Games: Coruscant League had information about the Coruscant League, which the historian Beaumont Kin referenced when[1] he[3] mentioned the league in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire[1] in 35 ABY[4] In the book, Kin noted that while Tarkin had attended the matches, it was unclear if he actually had any interest in grav-ball.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Coruscant League was mentioned in the 2024 reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, by Dr. Chris Kempshall.[1]

- ↑ Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire states that thirty years have passed since the end of the Galactic Civil War and months have passed since the Battle of Exegol. As Star Wars: Timelines dates the end of the war to 5 ABY and the Battle of Exegol to 35 ABY, the in-universe The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire must have been published in 35 ABY.
