"Your cargo hovership will keep travelling back and forth to your allies' spaceport. On every return trip some nova crystals will be added to your stockpile."
―Qui-Gon Jinn to Chewbacca[1]

The Corellian HoverFreighter was a repulsorcraft used by Wookiees to transport goods such as nova crystals between spaceports.

Characteristics

"You can send multiple cargo hoverships on any given trade route."
―Qui-Gon Jinn[1]

Corellian HoverFreighters were manufactured at spaceports, costing 75 units of carbon to assemble. As repulsorcrafts the HoverFreighters levitated above ground surfaces and could even traverse over bodies of water. The HoverFreighters were grey with painted strips on the side to indicate their affiliation. They had a rectangular shape with strips that extended below the body of the vehicles which carried orange boxes filled with nova crystals.[1]

Role

"As long as you protect your hoverships from harm, they'll give you a steady supply of nova crystals."
―Qui-Gon Jinn[1]

Corellian HoverFreighters were used to exchange goods between spaceports, typically carrying nova crystals on a return journey.[1]

History

"Shoran has started sending his own hoverships to your market. Don't worry, they cost you nothing and it benefits your ally."
―Qui-Gon Jinn to Chewbacca[1]

Corellian HoverFreighters were used[1] 39 BBY and 36 BBY,[2] during the war for the moon Alaris Prime fought between Wookiee colonists and the Trade Federation. Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, acting as an advisor to the Wookiees, instructed the Wookiee Chewbacca to build Corellian HoverFreighters at his camp to faciliate trade between him and Shoran, another Wookiee.[1]

Behind the scenes

"Select your spaceport and build a cargo hovership."
―Qui-Gon Jinn's instruction to the player to build a Corellian HoverFreighter[1]

The Corellian HoverFreighter was created for the 2001 LucasArts video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, serving as the Wookiee version of the cargo hovercraft unit.[1]
