A CorSec Special Ops Captain
The Special Operations Unit,[1] also known as CorSec Special Operations,[2] or just CorSec Special Ops,[3] was a famous unit in the Corellian Security Force, the police force of the planet Corellia. It existed as early as the time of the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire,[1] and was still in activity during the Galactic Civil War.[2] The unit enlisted some of the galaxy's best specialists in undercover infiltration, and its members were tasked with infiltrating criminal organizations and bringing them down from inside.[1] Another of their areas of expertise was raids on criminal strongholds.[2]
Behind the scenes
The CorSec Special Operations was first mentioned in the novel X-Wing: The Bacta War.[2] It first appeared in the video game Star Wars Galaxies.[3] The Special Operations Unit was also mentioned in the Codex entry for the Corellian Security Force in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a video game released by BioWare in 2011.[1]
