The Con Star Mining Corporation was a key galactic-wide mining company active in the time prior to the Battle of Endor. A hundred years before the New Republic Era, Con Star abandoned the formerly lush mining world of Parnassos following a nuclear disaster, leaving the population to eke out a primeval existence. By the time of the New Republic, they were still operating.[1]
History
Around 162 BBY,[2] the Con Star Mining Corporation established colonies and mines on the planet Parnassos protected by a defense grid. The colonies were abandoned after a nuclear accident at one of the facilities, forcing the natives into destitution.[1]
In 24 ABY,[3] First Order troops led by General Brendol Hux crashed on the planet. They escaped with the help of the warrior Phasma, and Hux implied the First Order would punish the company for their abandonment.[1]
