A compact charric was a compact charric ranged weapon which was silent when it fired used by members of the Chiss Ascendancy government.[1] Around 18 BBY,[2] Chiss Mitth family Caregiver Mitth'ali'astov "Thalias" obtained Mitth family Senior Aide Thivik's compact charric after the aide to his Patriarch, Mitth'urf'ianico "Thurfian," gave it to Thalias. Both Chiss entered a tube car with Thurfian's armed guards, however, Thalias and Thurfian were in a separated compartment, where the Chiss Caregiver threatened Thurfian with death if he did not listen to her request about Senior Captain Thrawn. After the Chiss woman's request was heard, she gave the charric to Thurfian.[1]

A compact charric appeared in the 2021 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Lesser Evil, the final volume in Timothy Zahn's Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
