Combat scanners were scanner devices that were usually built into a helmet or goggles. Designed to provide the user with real-time data, combat scanners incorporated scanner technology with a mapping and navigation suite, as well as mission readouts and a long-range comlink. Some combat scanners had additional features, which could include 360-degree optical and audio sensors, night vision, thermal imaging, or infrared and motion sensors. Types of combat scanners included the Fabritech AF-q.1a Squad Support Scanner and the Chedak ADC Mk II Battlefield Data Suite.[1]
