Cobalt Squadron was a MG-100 StarFortress SF-17 unit within the Resistance.

History

Cobalt Squadron was a unit within the Resistance.[7] Ello Asty was a T-70 X-wing starfighter escort pilot in the squadron before transferring to Blue Squadron.[4] Asty wore the unit's insignia on his helmet.[8]

By the time of the Evacuation of D'Qar, the squadron consisted of MG-100 StarFortress SF-17s.[3] During that battle, the squadron was wiped out except for Fossil and Rose during a bombing run against a Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnought, though they accomplished their objective of destroying the ship.[9]

Prior to the Battle of D'Qar, Cobalt Squadron pilot Wrobie Tyce was reassigned to Snap Wexley's command, leading to her avoiding getting killed with her fellow squadron teammates during the evacuation.[10]

Behind the scenes

Cobalt Squadron was first mentioned in Star Wars canon reference books. It was later expanded upon The Last Jedi: Cobalt Squadron.
