Specialists of the Coastal Defense Division were used by the Galactic Empire in tropical environments. Coastal defender stormtrooper specialists wore similar armor to their counterparts but with red markings on their chest and shoulders. They usually served as snipers, supporting forward units and picking off targets at range using the DLT-19x targeting blaster.[1]

Behind the scenes

This variant of the shoretrooper appeared in Star Wars Battlefront II as part of the Galactic Empire's specialist class.[1]
