Clone Dive Armor, also known as the Clone Dive Suit, was a type of clone trooper armor that was worn by the clone SCUBA troopers of the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars.
Description
As clone troopers were as ill-suited for aquatic environments as any other human, they were required to wear the Clone Dive Armor to protect them from the ocean's pressure levels on planets such as Mon Cala, while it also provided oxygen to breathe and assisted in their aquatic maneuverability. And by necessity, the Clone Dive Armor were constructed from light-weight materials to ensure that the wearer retained a certain degree of buoyancy. They were also equipped with an underwater propulsion system, fins, and sensors for better visibility.[1]

Clone Dive Armor could provide a twelve-hour supply of oxygen, and during that time, the wearer also had a supply of fresh water, nutrition supplements, and other biological necessities.[1] Phase I Dive Armor featured a black helmet.[3] By the period of Phase II clone trooper armor, Clone Dive Armor was an all-white armor set that could be customized with different color markings by the trooper who wore it. Unlike contemporary Phase II gear, the helmet also featured a fin[2] like standard Phase I armor.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Clone Dive Armor first appeared in, albeit unidentified, in "Water War,"[2] the first episode of the animated television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars' fourth season, which originally aired on September 16, 2011. The armor was later first identified in Collapse of the Republic, a 2019 supplement to Fantasy Flight Games' series of Star Wars Roleplaying products.[1]
