Christopher Leith Evans,[1] occasionally credited as Chris Evans,[2] is an American artist who worked on creating matte paintings for several films,[1] including Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi[2] and Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure.[3]

Biography

Chris Evans was born in 1954 in Bremerton, Washington. After moving to Santa Monica, California, he would study at the University of California for several years under artists such as William Brice, James Valerio, and James Doolin, graduating with a Master of Fine Arts degree in 1980. He would later find a job as a matte painter for Industrial Light & Magic,[1] where he would work on Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi[2] and Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure,[3] for which he received an Emmy Awards in 1985 under the category "Outstanding Special Visual Effects".[4]
