Chiilaks were a type of creature upon which stuffed toys were based.[1] In around 232 BBY,[2] a pair of children rushed through Republic Avenue on the planet Coruscant on Solstice Tide, not looking where they were going because their minds were focused on what toys they hoped to find at the foot of their beds the next morning, which included stuffed chiilaks and model starships.[1]
Behind the scenes
In the new Star Wars canon, chiilaks were first mentioned in "A Coruscant Solstice," a short story written by Cavan Scott and published in the 2021 Life Day Treasury anthology.[1] The creatures originated in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where they were created for Creatures of the Galaxy, a 1994 supplement to Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game published by West End Games.[3]
