Chewing root was a type of edible root. During the Clone Wars, the smuggler Milinae Untaire carried a stick of chewing root in her pocket while fighting against battle droids and Trandoshans on a space station in the Cularin system. She discovered the root while looking for a grenade and she bit into it. However, the root was gone off and it had a sour taste.
