"Take ten warriors to the nearest weapons lockers and gather all the charrics and extra energy packs you can carry. Bring them here. The pirates will soon come through the breach. We must be ready for them."
―Commander Kres'ten'tarthi[7]

Charric rifles were a type of charric. Chiss sharpshooters were armed with charric sniper rifles.[1]

History

"Tlarik, help Jag Fel gather the weapons. All others, queue up. Take as much as you can carry at a run, then return to Commander Stent for instructions."
―Cadet commander Shawnkyr Nuruodo[7]

The charric disruptor rifles were exceedingly rare in the galaxy during the Dark Wars, a string of conflicts[5] that were fought between leftovers of the Sith Empire and the forces of the Galactic Republic.[4] In 3951 BBY,[5] they could be found on the planets such as Onderon and Nar Shaddaa.[4]

In 19 ABY,[8] when the Syndic Mitth'raw'nuruodo training academy was attacked by pirates, cadet commander Shawnkyr Nuruodo commanded cadets Fenlish and Khana to gather eight charric weapons and energy packs. The cadets ran to a nearby weapons cache, which they could not open, asking Nuruodo to open it; however, she was unable to do so. Human cadet Jagged Fel then opened the cache with a blaster, giving part of its contents to the cadet commander. Fel continued to gather the weapons and giving them to cadets, while he strapped the remaining charric rifles over his shoulders until he could barely stand under their weight. Shortly after, under Nuruodo's directive, cadets fled to the academy's forests. The battle ended with the pirates' defeat.[7]

In 36 ABY, during the Battle of Tenupe[1] Chiss sharpshooters were armed with charric sniper rifles that capable of firing a maser bolt for several hundred meters—significantly farther than its smaller handgun counterparts—the rifle possessed considerable more range, and was also equipped with a sensor rod for electronic magnification.[1]
