The charr ant was a type of ant found on[1] the Mid Rim planet[2] Kashyyyk that shared a symbiotic relationship with the shi-shok tree.[1] In 231 BBY,[3] the Jedi Order and Hutt Clan undertook an assault against[1] the sentient carnivorous plants[3] known as the Drengir[1] on their homeworld[3]—the Wild Space world Mulita. During the assault,[1] the Kotabi bond-twins Jedi Knights[3] Ceret and Terec compared the symbiotic relationship of the charr ant and shi-shok tree to that of the Drengir and a local type of arthropod they had weaponized to act as guards.[1]

Behind the scenes

The charr ant was mentioned in the eighth issue of the 2021 comic series Star Wars: The High Republic,[1] released as part of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I.[4] The issue was written by Cavan Scott and published by Marvel Comics on August 11, 2021.[5]
