"Changing the Odds: The Adventures of Dannen Lifehold" was a short story written by Dave Marron, originally published in Star Wars Adventure Journal 3 by West End Games in August 1994 and later archived online at Hyperspace.
Plot summary
Though he does not want to get involved with the Rebellion, Dannen Lifehold delivers medical supplies from Alderaan to a Rebel outpost on Rafft. A homing beacon hidden in the cargo alerts the Empire to the Rebel presence. Dannen helps evacuate the Rebels and, upon learning that Alderaan has been destroyed, commits himself fully to the Rebel Alliance.
