The Changa system was located in the Tolonda sector of the Outer Rim Territories.[1] It was the origin point of the martial arts discipline known as Changa bushfighting.[2][3]

Behind the scenes

The Changa system was introduced in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, authored by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry, which placed it in grid square Q-18.[1] The system shares its name with the "Changa Bloodrot," a disease mentioned in the 1995 outline by Robert J. Sawyer for the unpublished Star Wars novel Alien Exodus.[4]

The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion (post by jasonfry) on the Jedi Council Forums' Literature board (December 11, 2007): "I wouldn't get your hopes up re alien homeworlds, beyond simple stuff like the Planetnamian species getting a Planetnamia on the map or things Dan and I can account for with a relatively quick reference." (backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Changa bushfighting in relation to the Changa system.
