- "The Millennium Falcon! What a coincidence! My last ship was called the Centennial Peregrine."
"No, it wasn't."
"Why not? You can't prove it wasn't. Anyway, I stole it and crashed it in the same day." - ―Hondo Ohnaka and Han Solo
The Centennial Peregrine was a starship stolen and crashed by Hondo Ohnaka, a pirate operating throughout the galaxy.[1]
During the Imperial Era, Ohnaka stole the vessel following a night of drinking Sarlacc Juice and firing blaster bolts at an Imperial garrison commander's feet, though he was hazy on the details. After stealing the vessel, Ohnaka was quickly pursued by two Imperial TIE fighters. He tried to escape to the planet Galagolos V, where he was shot down and escaped into the planet's spaceport.[1]
Shortly afterward, Ohnaka stowed away aboard the YT-1300 light freighter Millennium Falcon, hoping to steal the vessel. However, after overhearing a woman named Mahjo Reeloo pleading with the ship's owner, the smuggler Han Solo, to aid in her quest to find Novian rubies, he decided to reveal himself, surprising Solo. He described the ship as very unusual, asking for its name, and was told it. In response, he playfully referred to the vessel he had stolen as the Centennial Peregrine. Solo objected, but Ohnaka replied that he could not prove otherwise. He went on to state that having stolen and crashed it in the same day, it was a small thing to name it as well, asking if Solo wanted it to have died without a name. Solo retorted that whoever Ohnaka stole it from likely had their own name for it, which he replied was a good point.[1]
