Ceela was a pink fluid that was found on the volcanic planet Vernost. A "miracle-liquid," it was capable of helping plants grow at faster rates, engines run quicker, and prolonging Human life to a potentially infinite amount of time. During the Galactic Civil War, the Alliance to Restore the Republic and Galactic Empire battled over the liquid. Rebel X-wing starfighters attempted to gather Ceela from the canyons of the planet as they were shot at by Imperial turrets.[1]
Behind the scenes
Ceela was planned to appear in Vernost, a canceled video game played on the "Mirage" flight simulator as a collaboration between LucasArts and Hughes Training. Prior to the cancellation of the game, information on the story was released in the "Hughes Training Premieres Star Wars Simulation" article in the February 1993 issue of the fifth volume of Larry Flynt Publications' VideoGames & Computer Entertainment magazine, written by David S. Moskowitz.[2] The name Ceela was provided in the "Virtual Reality Pod" article in the May 1993 issue of the 8th edition of Bonnier Corporation's Popular Science magazine, written by Richard A. Marini.[1]
