A cathtron tube was a mechanical part necessary to the operation of ion cannons. One of the ion cannons used by the Batonn insurgents was revealed to have been operational after it fired, with Commander Karyn Faro deducing that the insurgents did in fact have a spare cathtron tube.[1]
