The female Lanai Caretakers followed a religion that idealized a balance in tranquility. Despite having maintained the Temple Island and the First Jedi Temple for millennia, the Caretakers did not adhere to the Jedi path. Even so, the light side and the dark side of the Force had analogs in their religion, expressed by the changing weather of the planet Ahch-To.[1]

The religion of the Caretakers was first mentioned in Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary (2017) by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
