- "Under the circumstances, I respectfully recommend that you exercise your rights under the Captain's Authority directives and find out exactly who and what Odo is. At the very least, we should take another look at his authorization to be aboard this ship."
- ―Commander Gilad Pellaeon, to Captain Calo Drusan
The Captain's Authority was a series of directives that included a series of rights that a starship captain of the Galactic Empire could exercise.[1] In 0 ABY,[2] Imperial Court member Lord Odo, who was secretly the alien Warlord Nuso Esva, infiltrated the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Chimaera, covering his entire body to remain unidentified. The warship's third bridge officer, Commander Gilad Pellaeon, advised his superior, Captain Calo Drusan, to use his Captain's Authority rights to learn the true identity of Odo. However, Drusan did not, telling Pellaeon that the Imperial lord had been verified by Emperor Palpatine himself.[1]
