The CX-55 scatterblaster was a model of scatterblaster used by the Alazmec of Winsit, a group of Alazmec cultists that was drawn to the Corvax Fen on the planet Mustafar. The blaster had a brown stock and a long black barrel, with sections of silver-colored paneling around the muzzle and just in front of the trigger.[1] The weapon fired yellow blaster bolts.[2]
In 35 ABY,[3] forces of the First Order led by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren fought the Alazmec in the fen in order to obtain a Sith wayfinder. During the battle, at least two cultists used CX-55 scatterblasters while fighting Ren,[2] but the weapons were no match for his lightsaber,[4] and he deflected their shots with his blade and then used it to kill the two cultists.[2]
Behind the scenes
The CX-55 scatterblaster first appeared in the 2019 sequel trilogy film, Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker.[2] The weapons were not identified in the film but received a name in the accompanying reference book Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary, which was written by Pablo Hidalgo.[1]
