The CM3-series protocol droid was a model of protocol droid[1] with a humanoid frame. TAY-0 was a refurbished CM3-series protocol droid equipped for racing who was destroyed and rebuilt[3] sometime between 19 BBY and 18 BBY.[4]

The CM3-series protocol droid first appeared in the episode "Faster,"[3] the fourth episode of the Disney+ television series Star Wars: The Bad Batch's second season, which premiered on January 18, 2023.[5]
