In 34 ABY,[2] the master of the C-series astromech droid C9-78 allowed the droid a day to leave Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu, where the droid had dwelt for some time without ever leaving the outpost.[1] Hoping to find a companion to travel with, C9-78 called in to the radio show Droid Station Frequency 3-7-6-4-3-7 on station BSO 401.72[3] and mentioned its master[1] while speaking to the show's host, B6-24.[3]

Behind the scenes

C9-78's master was mentioned in the background radio loop of the themed land Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge,[3] which opened to guests at Disneyland Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2019.[4] He is only mentioned by JB-7 in binary,[3] with a translation of what it's saying available from staff.[1]
