- "Candoras sector. I also remember that it was shortly afterward that Nuso Esva launched the Braccio campaign and ended up nearly destroying half a dozen species."
- ―Senior Captain Voss Parck
The Braccio campaign was a military campaign launched by alien warlord Nuso Esva[1] around 0 ABY[2] that nearly rendered six species extinct.[1] In 8 ABY,[4] shortly after the warlord's death during a battle on the[1] Unknown Regions[5] planet Quethold between his forces and the Empire of the Hand, Imperial Senior Captain Voss Parck recalled to Grand Admiral Thrawn that the campaign occurred shortly after Esva's incursion into the Galactic Empire's[1] Outer Rim Territories Candoras sector.[6] The Braccio campaign[1] shared its name with the Braccio system, a Wild Space star system.[7]
Behind the scenes
The Braccio campaign was mentioned in the novella Crisis of Faith, written by Timothy Zahn and published in 2011 as part of the 20th Anniversary Edition of the 1991 novel Heir to the Empire.[1]

- ↑ 2.0 2.1 Crisis of Faith establishes that the Braccio campaign takes place shortly after Nuso Esva's incursion into the Candoras sector. As the events of Choices of One, which include the incursion, are dated to 0 ABY by The Essential Reader's Companion, the Braccio campaign must take place around 0 ABY.
- ↑ The Essential Atlas and Galactic Cartography: Official Discussion (post by jasonfry) on the Jedi Council Forums' Literature board (December 11, 2007): "I wouldn't get your hopes up re alien homeworlds, beyond simple stuff like the Planetnamian species getting a Planetnamia on the map or things Dan and I can account for with a relatively quick reference." (backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Braccio campaign in relation to the Braccio system.
