Behind the scenes

The boring-laser first appeared in Scavenger Hunt, a 1989 roleplaying adventure authored by Brad Freeman and published by West End Games for use with Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.^[1] Michael Nystul's 1990 adventure Death in the Undercity later introduced an alternate spelling for the device's name and also included an illustration of it by Cathleen Hunter.^[2]
