A bok was a draft animal from Bothawui,[1] a Mid Rim planet that was the homeworld of the sentient Bothan species.[2] The term was specifically used to refer to the animals' male bulls. Among the Bothans, "Bok" was also a family name.[1]

The bok was mentioned in the 2003 reference book Galactic Campaign Guide, written by Peter M. Schweighofer and J.D. Wiker and published by Wizards of the Coast for use with the Star Wars Roleplaying Game.[1]
