- "Bleena, my slicer, was going to place an equivalent amount of credits equal to the street value of this cash, into Ind's account but now he can't."
- ―Kavas Urdano, to a spacer
Bleena was a male slicer who lived on the planet Tatooine during the time of the Galactic Civil War. After the Battle of Yavin, he worked for Lady Valarian's lieutenant Kavas Urdano.[1] In 1 ABY,[3] Urdano tasked a spacer with recovering Bleena's tool set that was stolen from him by a band of Jawa. Kavas Urdano later used Bleena to slice the bank account of Ind, another lieutenant of Lady Valarian and the main rival of Kavas.[1]
Behind the scenes
Bleena was a cut non-player character (NPC) in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[4]
Bleena was intended to be part of the cancelled Themepark. This questline was initially planned to be introduced in the game with the "Publish 23" to replace the original "Valarian Quest Series."[5] Although the old "Valarian Quest Series" was deactivated with the release of Publish 23 on August 31, 2005,[6] the new Themepark was never activated.[7] Several NPCs of the Valarian Theme Park were implemented into the game but Bleena was not known to have appeared on the live servers.[8] Unused game files pertaining to this questline indicated that Bleena was intended to be part of a new quest named "Thrust."[9]

- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
