The criminal organization Black Sun maintained a stronghold in Ord Mantell City on the planet Ord Mantell during the Clone Wars. Later during the war, after Black Sun had joined the Shadow Collective, the Collective's forces as well as its leader, Maul, used the stronghold as a staging ground for the inevitable Battle of Ord Mantell against the Separatists.[1]

The Black Sun stronghold appeared in the 2014 comic book Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir 2, written by Jeremy Barlow and drawn by Juan Frigeri.[1] The comic was adapted from scripts for an unfinished story arc of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, written by Matt Michnovetz and Aïda Mashaka Croal.[2] Concept art of the stronghold's command post was made by Will Nichols for episode production code 6.22 of the original arc.[3]
