The Black Sun bunker was a base located on Naboo's moon of Rori during the time of the Galactic Civil War. It was operated by the Black Sun.
History
- "I know that you found a spice sample, the local Black Sun leaders were talking about it earlier today. That's why they set up that trap for you. They want a piece of the action. I don't know the name of this spice, but it seems to be medicinal in nature, and rare."
- ―Tover Blackmoor, to a spacer
The bunker was located in the Vaydean Marsh region of Rori and was used by the Black Sun, one of the most powerful criminal syndicate in the galaxy, as its headquarters on the moon. After the Battle of Yavin, the Black Sun discovered that the Rebel Alliance was smuggling a new kind of spice.[1] In 1 ABY,[2] the Black Sun acquired a sample of this new spice after the smuggler Cal Handro crash-landed on Rori. The chemist Tover Blackmoor analyzed the spice in the bunker and discovered that it was nothing like any other spice available on the marker.[1]
The Black Sun leaders therefore decided to obtain more of that spice and started to track Cal Handro, the missing pilot who vanished after his ship crashed. They also set up a trap for a group of spacers who had found spice in Handro's crashed ship while searching for the missing pilot. A woman by the name Kaila Min contacted the spacers and pretended to have met the pilot on the run in the wilderness of Rori. The adventurers indeed rushed to the coordinates provided by the woman, only to be attacked by the Black Sun. However, the spacers killed all attackers and found the coordinates of the Black Sun bunker on a datapad. The spacers then attacked the bunker, hoping to find the missing pilot, and killed many Black Sun henchmen during the assault. They eventually found the chemist Tover Blackmoor and forced him to reveal everything he knew about the pilot and the new spice.[1]
Behind the scenes
The Black Sun bunker was a location in the 2003 massively multiplayer online roleplaying game Star Wars Galaxies,[1] prior to the game's closure on December 15, 2011.[3] The Black Sun bunker was added to the game with the second chapter of the "Secrets of the Syren" quest line, released with the "Publish 14.1," on March 24, 2005.[4] The "Secrets of the Syren" story arc was removed from the game with the "Chapter 1," published on June 8, 2006, due to the major changes planed for Rori with the introduction of the Battle of Restuss.[5]

Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed — Quest: "More than You Bargained For" on Rori
- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
