- "She needs a bio-cast, not plant food."
- ―Kazuda Xiono, on treating Eila
A bio-cast[1] or biocast was a type of medical technology used to heal broken bones.[2] In 34 ABY,[3] the Resistance spy Kazuda Xiono insisted on treating the child Eila's broken leg with a bio-cast. However, her brother, Kel, instead pursued a herbal remedy.[1]
Behind the scenes
The bio-cast was first mentioned in "The Children from Tehar,"[1] the sixth episode of the first season of the Star Wars Resistance animated television series which premiered on November 4, 2018.[4] It was later identified as "biocast" in the article "Bacta Basis: Medical Care in the Star Wars Galaxy," which was written by Amy Ratcliffe and published in the 190th issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine[2] on June 11, 2019.[5]
