- "I need you to go to Corellia and capture the Bez'ox Mentzz. The load of atmospheric inhibitors is mine but the shipping company won't send them to me."
- ―Droz
The Bez'ox Mentzz was a YT-1300 light freighter in use during the Galactic Civil War.
History
- "The Bez'ox Mentzz should be jumping in any moment now. Intercept and capture that freighter. Those supplies are important to us."
- ―Droz
In 1 ABY,[3] the Bez'ox Mentzz was traveling through the rich shipping lanes of the Corellian system, transporting atmospheric inhibitors. It was escorted by mercenaries piloting Y-wing starfighters. Just as the crew was preparing to jump into hyperspace, the freighter was intercepted and their escort was shot down by a spacer in a heavily armed ship. The spacer had been hired by the the station master of the Dantooine Space Station to secure the cargo for him. Threatened by the firepower of the spacer's ship, the freighter's crew surrendered and followed him to a rendezvous point where their cargo was transferred.[1] Three Z-95 Headhunters of the Corellian Security Force, possibly alerted by the freighter's crew, tried to intercept the pirate's ship shortly thereafter, but were shot down after a short dogfight.[4]
Behind the scenes
The Bez'ox Mentzz appeared in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts,[1] prior to its closure on December 15, 2011.[5] The Bez'ox Mentzz was added to the game with the release of the expansion pack Jump to Lightspeed on October 27, 2004. It was the second target of a mission that was available to players when communicating with the Dantooine Space Station. The first target was the Shifty Prince, the third and final target was the Lord's Mistress.[1]

- ↑ The opening crawl of Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided dates the game to after the events of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and additionally, Serji-X Arrogantus, who died in Star Wars (1977) 10—the events of which The New Essential Chronology dates to 0 ABY—appears in the game. Therefore, at least a portion of Star Wars Galaxies must be set in that year. Furthermore, in the game Ruwan Tokai references the destruction of the Death Star as having occurred one year earlier, and Strongholds of Resistance also places the events of Galaxies' Chapter 9: "The Fury of Exar Kun" in 1 ABY. Lastly, while Chapter 11: "The Battle of Echo Base" features the Battle of Hoth—dated to 3 ABY by The New Essential Chronology—the developers have stated that the portrayal of that battle in the game is intentionally anachronistic. Therefore, the events of Star Wars Galaxies must span from 0 ABY to around 1 ABY.
