A First Order riot control stormtrooper with a betaplast helmet and riot shield
Betaplast, also known as Composite Betaplast or betaplastoid, was an armored material that comprised the armor of the First Order stormtroopers. Offering improved protection over Imperial plastoid, betaplast was known for its ballistic qualities[2] and high-impact resistance.[3] Captain Phasma claimed it to be durable enough that not even a Wookiee could crush it—though when threatened she relented rather than allow Chewbacca to test her claim.[1]
Betaplast was also used in the neck guards and armored collars of the members of Canto Bight's Uniformed Branch.[3]
